Poor Wellington train commuters.
Even a hardened train user like me would be starting to have second thoughts.
Tonight, a tunnel fire south of Paekakariki has interrupted services while firemen tackle the blaze.
For the firemen’s safety, the overhead had power to be turned off, so rail services are being replaced by buses between Plimmerton and Paekakariki until further notice.
Hutt Valley and Johnsonville also had some delays.
