The dismantling of Kingdon St’s Newmarket West temporary station is slow.

For the other temporary Newmarket station, Newmarket South at Remuera Rd, extra workers were brought in as there was pressure to complete the work and clear the area for diggers arriving.

This was because of the pending major work about to be started between that area and St Marks Rd where the railbridge is being replaced.

But as Kingdon St now becomes a “dead end,” there is no pressure to rush the job.

  1. So does Kingston street remain closed where it crosses the railways? I assume that’s what you mean by dead end?

  2. Don’t know the answer rtc. I didnt mean it literally to do with the road.
