westpacGood to see banking moving into Britomart with the arrival of a Westpac money machine, just inside the Queen St entrance.
A guy seem to be struggling all day to set it up.
Could this be the start of integrated ticketing? They’ll certainly need need cash machines like these on all platforms.

It was pleasing to see that after 37 days the broken escalator at Britomart was fixed.

I can’t wait to see how long the next one takes to fix. Good practice for the new Newmarket escalators.

  1. I’m confused … I seem to remember there was a Westpac ATM inside Britomart already and it was there since the CPO building opened. Did that disappear for a while?

  2. Same as Andrew, to my best recollections, there has always been one

  3. It’s been there since the complex was opened.

  4. You can tell which bank I don’t use! They must have been replacing it. It was lugged there in the morning and the guy was still tinkering in the afternoon.
I was daydreaming it marked the start of integrated ticketing. Some chance of that!!

  5. I don’t use that ATM either because of the “other bank ATM fee”.

I don’t think integrated ticketing requires additional bank ATMs anyway. The Melbourne ticket vending machines at stations accept Eftpos, and the Northern Express ticket vending machines here in Auckland accept credit cards.

    Slow news day?

  7. Oh lord… fares raising hence ATMS?!!!

Conductors get whiny which you don’t have the correct change, why not a change machine?

  8. Hi, All –

I’m a Kiwi now living in Sydney.

I arrived in Auckland to visit family on the 20th. Two days later I used said ATM @ Britomart.
Today, I got a call from my bank in Aus to check whether it was me who subsequently withdrew nearly all of the funds from my savings account via my key-card.
    It wasn’t.
Some lowlife scumbag had stolen my money. I shall be contacting Britomart and Westpac tomorrow.
So – be warned, fellow punters. I hope YOUR Christmas turns out better than mine…

I wish the thief a Merry Syphillis and a happy Gonnorrhea!!!
