And as far i know the Thales system could go in taxis and be used for small purchases it just a matter of buying readers that work with it and connecting it up to ARTA’s IT system

If Snapper was not a part of Infratil then I would not have much of a problem with them, except a mild annoyance that they just can’t let things go.

lHowever, Infratil has really done nothing good for Auckland’s public transport system. They are trying to kill off the PublicTransport Management Act, look at the mess they made with the bus lockout, and now this.

In some ways you have to feel sorry for the Snapper subsidary of Infratil. If NZ Bus were not getting so offside with ARTA over the drivers contract dispute they may have had more of a chance..
